She's too impatient to go far, anyway: she slows her pace as soon as they're out of the noise of the market-day crowd. Jesse gets a sideways look then. There's a certain trepidation beneath her curiosity, but she's determined to ask anyway: "What did you mean back there, when you called me a breather?"
